Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to LAURICH HANDWERK!   Are you fed up with our throw-away society in which the consumption of short-lived, disposable products seems to have become the norm? Well so are we! But there is an alternative. Here at Laurich, we value our customers and don’t expect them to accept throw-away or mass-manufactured products. Our mission is to create items which last. Our leather products are finished to an exceptionally high standard and made from materials of outstanding quality. We don’t make them to follow any particular trend or fashion, but want them to grow their own unique story over many years of use.

By creating products that are extremely durable and rarely need replacement, we are saving valuable resources. All the materials we use - including the product packaging - are hand-picked and, wherever possible, locally sourced as well. Our hides are tanned in a slow, extremely time-consuming process that allows the leather to mature gradually into a top-quality product. All the tanning agents we use are vegetable-based.

As a final step in this long tanning process, nourishing wax is worked into the hide. By dedicating so much care and attention to the leather, we create a “living” product on which all the folds, wrinkles, scars and pores of various sizes are still clearly visible and so help it to retain its original character

By the way, we are proud to carry on the working traditions of our grandfathers. All our products are manufactured individually with the greatest care and using only manual processes – to create an end product that demonstrates our appreciation of the material, manual dexterity and loving dedication to the craft.
